Nursing Homes
The Cookham Riverside,
Cookham, and Hempton Field, Chinnor, are remarkably similar. With
a maximum of 35 residents in one and 33 in the other they are the
ideal size for excellent care and achievement of real quality of life.
Not so big that they feel like a hospital, not so small that they
lack the facilities and staff cover one is entitled to expect. We
have listed below what we consider are the key factors common to both
Homes:
- Staffing
- All our staff have recieved extensive in-house training. Many
of the staff have been with the Homes for over ten years. We could
not hope for more loyal, dedicated and kinder staff.
- Care
- Our approach is holistic, that is to say we take in to
account all facets of life when planning and organising resident
care. This means not just satisfying clinical needs, it means
what food you like, how you like your tea, what activities you
might enjoy, when you like to get up, when you might like to go
to church or when you might simply enjoy being left alone. Our
objective is to provide the care and help each resident would
like, to get the most out of his or her life, Whilst preserving
independance and above all the feeling of being secure and at
home
- Facilities
- Both Homes have superb facilities. They are very comfortable
and very well maintained. There is a driver and minibus at the
residents disposal. We have an organiser at each Home whose sole
job it is to support residents activities whether this involves
games, outings, library visits or even just help with reading
a letter, sending a card.
- Visiting
- We view each Home as the Residents home - we just help
to run it! There are no restrictions whatsoever on visiting hours.
Likewise if someone wishes to view the Home there is no need for
an appointment. Whenever you appear you will always be most welcome.
Above all
we believe both Homes are lovely places to live and excellent places
to work.
