CARE AT THE COOKHAM RIVERSIDE

Care-staff

The Cookham Riverside was founded and for many years operated by the Civil Service Benevolent Fund. Indeed the Home continues to attract retired civil servants. The Home has just thirty-five single bedrooms, most with simply glorious views over the gardens and of the Cookham Reach. It is this stretch of the Thames that inspired Kenneth Graham's "Wind in the Willows", indeed one could almost imagine rat and mole at the bottom of the garden extolling the rivers beauty. The Home is just one hundred yards level walk from the Cookham Village centre and the Church is a very similar distance down the river

The Cookham Riverside provides short term respite and convalescent care as well as long-term residential nursing care. We endeavour to keep one room available at all times for short-term emergency care, indeed we can often even cater for one night's stay at one hour's notice. The Home enjoys the benefits of a dedicated activity organiser and its own transport service.
